Setting up your shop for success with ProShop ERP starts with having the right hardware and infrastructure. On this page, you’ll find our recommended minimum system requirements, tips for building a reliable network and internet connection, and a real-world client workstation example to inspire your setup. Whether you’re outfitting a single station or an entire facility, these best practices will help ensure ProShop runs smoothly and efficiently in your environment.

Recommended Minimum Requirements for Running ProShop
To ensure ProShop runs reliably and smoothly, we recommend the following baseline computer and network specifications.
Computers
A desktop or laptop computer with:
- x86-based CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5) running at 2.5–3.5 GHz
- 8 GB of RAM (16 GB preferred)
- 250 GB SSD
- 27″ monitor (1080p minimum)
- Wired or wireless networking
- Mouse or touchpad and keyboard
- Windows 10 or 11
- Google Chrome (or Chromium-based browser) or Mozilla Firefox

There are many alternative form factors available—mini PCs, industrial fanless units, single board computers (SBCs like Raspberry Pi), and tablets. However, ProShop is not tested on all these variations. If you plan to use one, purchase a single unit first and test ProShop thoroughly before buying more.
✅ Important: Keep your operating system and browser updated. An outdated system may cause ProShop functionality to break.

Network
A dependable network is just as important as your workstation.

- Hardwired connections are ideal for stationary workstations
- Wireless networks are fine for mobile setups, but must be high quality and well planned
- For wireless in manufacturing environments, ProShop strongly recommends hiring a qualified networking contractor to:
- Perform a wireless site survey
- Recommend and install appropriate enterprise-grade equipment
Internet
For shops running ProShop ERP in the cloud:
- Small shops (<10 users): A 25–50 Mbps connection may suffice
- Larger shops: Aim for fiber-based connections with 100+ Mbps and a Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Consult your ISP for the best plan to support your shop’s usage
Client Setup Examples
Setup #1
This setup is a client recommendation and has not been tested by our team.
This setup uses a touch screen monitor and a custom 3D printed part to mount it off of a standard HAAS control at the top, and the ULine mount at the bottom using 10-32 screws. It uses an ODROID XU4Q like the ones above, mounted in a 3D printed case/mount. The STP Ales for the 3D models can be downloaded in a ZIP Ale with the link below.
The touch screen monitor can be used with an on-screen keyboard, or a keyboard tray could be mounted below from the VESA mount. The monitor comes in a 22″ and 15.6″ size.
