ABOUT NTMA

The National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) is a US-based membership trade association with the collective power of 1100 thriving tool & die and precision manufacturing companies representing more than $35 billion in sales.

Since its founding in 1943, NTMA has remained relevant by changing with the times, focusing on the future of American manufacturing as exemplified by our members: small and medium-sized companies, many of them family owned or privately held.

NTMA has the know-how, resources and national presence to drive positive change and growth. Our growing membership is gaining momentum and bringing a new perception to precision manufacturing across the U.S.

NTMA is working to help fill the manufacturing skills gap through a suite of programs targeted at students and their families, schools, the current workforce and support organizations. The National Robotics League (NRL) gives students hands-on experience and marketable skills through partnership with local manufacturing companies. NTMA-U is an online training platform that removes the obstacles of traditional classroom-based learning. The program constantly evaluates industry needs and develops new, relevant content. NTMA’s training materials are approved by the FBAT-DOL for precision machining programs and NTMA also has an articulation agreement in place with the University of Akron so participants earn credit towards a college degree.
